Toast to local craft beer during Charlotte Craft Beer Week events

Charlotte Craft Beer Week — the part of North Carolina’s Craft Beer Month celebration that celebrates the Queen City’s craft beer culture — is back from Friday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, Oct. 30.

Events include a job fair for those who want to break into the craft beer industry in Charlotte, a comedy show involving brewers reading their online reviews and a Halloween bar crawl. Some individual breweries are offering events, as well — and promise details closer to the dates.

And it’s not just breweries participating. Also joining in on the fun are The Porter’s House, Queen City Craft & Gourmet, VGBG Beer Hall & Garden, and The Vintage, plus several beer clubs and festivals.

Here’s a look at what’s happening to celebrate Charlotte Craft Beer Week and the breweries participating:

Craft beer week events

Charlotte Craft Beer Week Job Fair!

Location: Resident Culture - Plaza Midwood, 2101 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205

When: Wednesday, Oct. 26, 5-8:30 p.m.

What: Job fair for those seeking employment in Charlotte’s craft beer industry.

Bad Review Night

Location: Free Range Brewing - Villa Heights, 2320 N. Davidson St., Charlotte, NC 28205

When: Oct. 28, 6-8 p.m.

What: Laugh along with brewers Chad Henderson of NoDa Brewing, Erika Woodcock-Ellertson of Free Range Brewing and Gavin Toth of Divine Barrel Brewing as they read online reviews about their beers for the first time.

LoSo Halloween Crawl

Location: Brewers At 4001 Yancey, Protagonist LoSo, Gilde, Lower Left Brewing, The Old Mecklenburg Brewery, Red Clay Ciderworks, Weathered Souls Charlotte, Sugar Creek Brewing

When: Saturday, Oct. 29, noon-6 p.m.

What: Dress up in your favorite Halloween costume for a day of festivities at breweries in the Lower South End area.

  • Monday, Oct. 24: All three participating locations will host beer education events. Legion will host two free hour-long brewery tours at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., and the other locations will have limited signup free tasting sessions.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 25: Events include Trivia at the Plaza Midwood location, an Infusion and cocktail demo event at the Trolley Barn) and a brewery tour and tasting event at the West Morehead location.
  • Friday, Oct. 28: The West Morehead hosts a Monster Mash party with costumes and glow sticks.
  • Saturday, Oct. 29: The Trolley Barn co-hosts a Halloween Social with CLT Social from 1-4 p.m., and Plaza Midwood hosts a Tarot Card Reading event from 6-9 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 30: The West Morehead location hosts Goat Yoga at 10:30 a.m.
