Sycamore Brewing’s new airport location is now open, with food offerings to boot
Just in time for the holiday travel season, Sycamore Brewing’s second location has opened — at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Travelers will be able to sip Sycamore beers on tap and in cans, along with wine — and nosh on a food menu that spans from breakfast to late night, with appetizers, pizza, handhelds and salads.
Early morning offerings such as the Southern Girl and Mountain Candy breakfast plates — named for popular Sycamore brews — will be available until 10 a.m. daily. Later in the day, you can grab an Uptown Burger with an Impossible burger patty, veggie mozzarella and kale slaw, or the CLT Chop Salad with bacon, fresh avocado, roasted corn and hard cooked egg to fuel you up for your travels.
The space includes a bar with wrap-around seating, highlighted with pops of light green and pink, along with neon signage. Peppy murals to lighten up your rushing-through-an airport vibes read “life is brewtiful” and “I’m leaving on a jet plane, but first, beer!”
The CLT airport partnership with global restaurateur HMSHost is the brewery’s first venture outside of its South End taproom , which is now closed as it moves from its 2161 Hawkins St. taproom to the space next door at 2151 Hawkins St.
“Since we first opened for business eight years ago, we have grown an exponential amount with 2022 on pace to nearly double 2020 retail distribution sales,” Sycamore Brewing co-owner Sarah Taylor Brigham said. “With this earned success, we decided it was the right time to take on a new endeavor at the airport, and we look forward to seeing how this fun concept will further serve our Charlotte community and travelers, too, with good times, great beer and now great food.”
