Ale yeah! USA Today readers name Charlotte spot Best Beer Garden in the country
As we all know, Charlotte is a beer hot spot. That was confirmed yet again on the national stage as Charlotte Beer Garden was named USA Today’s Best Beer Garden of 2022.
Along with noting the beer garden as the winner, USA Today said: “The Charlotte Beer Garden offers one of the largest selections of draft beers you’re likely to find in a single restaurant — some 400 beers on tap. Visitors can enjoy their beer of choice at the indoor-outdoor beer bar or on the heated patio.”
Not to be forgotten, Charlotte Beer Garden’s sister spot, Raleigh Beer Garden, also got noticed. It ranked No. 3 in the competition.
And that’s not all. Charlotte’s VBGB ranked No. 10 on the same list. The national publication said: “VBGB Beer Hall and Garden serves up 30 local and regional craft beers on tap served at the frost rail bar or outside on one of Charlotte’s largest patios. This outdoor beer garden area includes bar games and cornhole alongside communal picnic tables.”
We’ve also seen success in these contest before. In 2019, 2020 and 2021, Salud Beer Shop won the nod from USA Today for best beer bar in the country.
Divine Barrel also took the No. 3 spot for Best Beer Label this year.

- Boone, NC: Named No. 5 of the Top 10 towns with the Best Small Town Beer Scene.
- Brewgaloo in Raleigh: Named No. 4 on the list of the 10 Best Beer Festivals.
Funguys Brewing in Raleigh: Named No. 1 on the list of Best New Breweries.
Asheville: Named No. 6 of 10 in the Best Beer City round.
