How far do you have to drive from Charlotte to try the Chick-Fil-A Cauliflower Sandwich?
You may have heard that a plant-based Chick-fil-A sandwich — the Chick-fil-A Cauliflower Sandwich, to be more specific — is in the testing phase. But where can you try it?
Turns out, we’re not too far away in Charlotte. The three test markets for the new entree are Denver; Charleston, S.C.; and North Carolina’s Greensboro-Triad region.
There are multiple stores to pick from in Greensboro, about an hour and a half away at 92 miles.
And from Charlotte to Charleston is just a touch more than a three-hour drive at 209 miles, where you can find more than a dozen Chick-Fil-A restaurants to choose from, as well.
Before you go, just be sure to check the Chick-fil-A® App or contact the restaurant to find out if the restaurant is participating in the test.
The Chick-Fil-A Cauliflower Sandwich
The sandwich is made with a filet cut from whole cauliflower. Like the original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, it’s marinated, breaded with a signature seasoning, pressure-cooked and served on a toasted buttery bun with two dill pickle chips.
But please note: While the sandwich may be plant-based, it’s not vegetarian. The official line says: “While some may consider the Cauliflower Sandwich vegetarian-friendly, Chick-fil-A does not consider it vegetarian due to its cooking environment.” Milk and eggs are included in the preparation.
“Guests told us they wanted to add more vegetables into their diets, and they wanted a plant-forward entree that tasted uniquely Chick-fil-A. Our new sandwich is made with the highest quality ingredients and whole vegetables, and we hope it offers customers another reason to dine at Chick-fil-A.” said Leslie Neslage, the company’s director of menu and packaging.
