Now you can start your Charlotte weekend with a Mexican take on chicken & waffles, mimosas
In Charlotte, we brunch. So when there’s a new option on the scene, it’s cause for celebration. Que Fresa Taqueria + Bar has brought us just that — brunch with a Mexican twist.
Now, you can start your weekend at Que Onda’s sister restaurant, which opened up last fall in Wesley Heights. The all-day brunch menu will be served on both Saturdays and Sundays, with a drink menu to compliment the food. (And, of course, the usual menu of tacos, burritos, bowls and tortas will be available as well.)
Here’s a look at a few highlights from the new options.
The Food
Brunch tacos: Options include:
- Beef Machacha with eggs,cheese, poblano crema, potatoes, red onion and cilantro;
- Bacon, Egg and Cheese with scallions and pico de gallo; and
- Choripapa with chorizo, home fries, scrambled eggs, crispy cheese, pickled onion and guacamole.
Cali Breakfast Chimichanga: cheesy scrambled eggs and bacon with scallions, fajita home fries, pinto beans, queso dip, poblano crema and pico de gallo.
Chicken & Waffles: With chipotle maple syrup and mango salsa.
Chilaquiles Campechanos: grilled steak, chorizo, fried egg, salsa verde, crispy tortillas, cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, pickled chiles and Cotija cheese.
Churrasco & Egg: grilled steak, Argentinian sausage, chimichurri, fajita home fries, pickled onion, fried egg and sweet plantains.
Fresa French Toast: Tres leches brioche toast, strawberries, whipped cream, sopapilla strips, dulce de leche and maple syrup.
The Drinks
La Reina: A house margarita crowned with a Coronita Extra beer, a Tajin rim and tamarind Chamoy straw.
Michelava con Cameron: (Lunazul blanco, Mexican beer, Clamato Valentina hot sauace, fresh lime juice, poached adobo shrimp and Tajin.
Paloma: Lunazul reposado, grapefruit soda, juice sparkling wine, agave and a grapefruit salt rim.
Que Fresa’s mimosa bar: Pair your brunch with a fruity mimosa. Juice selections include orange, strawberry, mango, pineapple, tamarind, prickly pear and guava.
