See inside: The new Sycamore Brewing location in Charlotte at The Line

The new South End location of Sycamore Brewing will open May 31, drawing in beer lovers, coffee drinkers and foodies to a two-story space with a ground-level beer garden and a second-floor patio overlooking the Rail Trail.

Last year, Sycamore shut down its original location at 2161 Hawkins St., trading it in for a brand new spot still under construction next door at 2151 Hawkins St. Its new home will have 10,000 square feet of space that anchors The Line, a 16-story office building.

Here’s what to look forward to when Sycamore Brewing opens:

  • Sycamore Café: The new coffee shop, situated on the taproom’s ground floor, will serve freshly brewed coffee and house-made cookies, plus pastries from other chefs and community bakers. Look for overnight oats and breakfast sandwiches like The Bacon Sandwich with egg over medium, bacon, sharp white cheddar, arugula, tomato and house-made Dijonnaise.

  • The taproom: Along with Sycamore’s craft beer staples such as Mountain Candy IPA, it will serve frose, cider, wine, cocktails on tap (including coffee-inspired versions), boozy popsicles and beer floats with soft serve ice cream.

  • Sycamore’s food menu: Look for grab-and-go breakfast, lunch and dinner options at the coffee shop and beer garden, including pairings for featured beverages each week. Brunch will be offered on weekends, and family friendly, vegan and gluten-free options will be available. The menu includes Shrimp Dip with pickled peppadew relish, spicy mustard and fresh herbs; hot Italian and Roast Beef sandwiches; White Pizza with tarte flambee or Red Pizza with sausage and Calabrian chili; Egg Salad Tartine with fresh herbs, arugula and summer truffle aioli; and French fries with Sycamore sauce or Mountain Candy mustard.

  • Sycamore’s iconic Airstream: The iconic symbol will be stationed upstairs as a nod to its original taproom. It will serve food-truck style burgers.

“At Sycamore Brewing, we believe in good times and great beer. That’s why we designed the brand-new taproom as a space not just for grabbing a drink but for kicking back, relaxing and connecting,” Sycamore Brewing owner Sarah Brigham said.

“Our bigger and better taproom has so much more to offer our customers including regular weekly specials, unique events and our new coffee shop. Its free-spirited aesthetic exudes a welcoming and laid-back vibe, and we look forward to welcoming everyone very soon!”
