Tiki bar The Royal Tot in Charlotte’s Belmont neighborhood has closed, it announced on Instagram.

“Closed as of may 2023. Thank you to everyone who loved and supported us,” the message on The Royal Tot’s profile read.

Queen City Nerve noted the closure on Twitter and Charlotte Business Journal first reported more details on its website of the sudden move for the rum-focused cocktail bar known for hosting the Charlotte location of Sippin’ Santa.

Just May 10, the bar had promised a new cocktail lineup was on the day. “ We’ll be saying aloha (the goodbye kind) to our winter cocktail menu soon and saying aloha (the hello kind) to a new menu soon! Come try your favorites before they’re gone!,” an Instagram post said.
