This popular SouthPark restaurant and wine spot is closed — but it’s reopening soon
Local restaurant and wine bar Bonterra has closed its doors, but the longtime Charlotte favorite will linger on in a new form. A newly redesigned restaurant, Phillip’s Bistro & Wine Bar, will take its place and officially open for dinner service on Sept. 21.
Phillip’s Bistro & Wine Bar will begin offering brunch, lunch and dinner on Sept. 25., and its team told CharlotteFive that they will begin opening with full hours in October.
Bonterra closed at the Phillips Place space in July.
“From all of us at Bonterra, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you, to all the loyal customers and new friends that stopped by for drinks or a meal over the years,” an Instagram post of the announcement said. “Brace yourself for a jaw-dropping transformation. We’re temporarily closing our doors for a phenomenal makeover, cooking up an epic new concept that will blow your taste buds away.”
The team told CharlotteFive that the restaurant will reopen with a new menu.
“We will still have a few Bonterra staples such as the lobster bites, filet and crab cake but with the addition of some more casual options, such as more pastas and sandwiches,” a Bonterra spokesperson told CharlotteFive.
Bonterra opened in the SouthPark area last year, offering the same food it served for 22 years at its original Dilworth location that closed in 2021, CharlotteFive previously reported.
