French-inspired bakery café to add second Charlotte location. Here’s where
French bakery café Maman NYC is just days away from opening its second Charlotte location.
Its newest spot officially opens Thursday, June 25, in South End at Atherton Mill, serving up the brand’s signature sandwiches, salads, coffee and decadent Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookies made famous by Oprah.
The menu includes two Charlotte-exclusive pastries: the peaches & cream danish ($6) and mac & cheese croissant ($6). Plus, foodies can look forward to full brunch on the weekends.
“The Charlotte community has welcomed us with open arms and we are so grateful to launch our second location in South End!” Maman co-founder Elisa Marshall said in a news release.
“We are thrilled to join such a lively neighborhood and share our unique blend of French-inspired cuisine and warm, inviting atmosphere with you all.”
The NYC-based brand made its Charlotte debut with the opening of its Plaza Midwood café in May, CharlotteFive previously reported. It’s the second of three cafés maman reportedly has planned for the Queen City.
Registration filed with the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Office earlier this year suggests the all-day café is also plotting a location in the Eastover/Myers Park area.
Its new spot in South End boasts 2836 square feet with seating for 56, plus an additional 44 on the patio area along the rail trail, according to the release.
Like its other locations, the space will feature decor inspired by the provincial South of France, alongside handmade light fixtures, toile-printed espresso machines, blue and white tiling, and floral installations by Floratorium.
Maman South End will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (The kitchen closes at 4 p.m. daily).
