After temporarily closing its doors, Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill is officially reopening with new changes to the space and its menu.

The Dilworth restaurant bar, which originally opened in 2009, closed at the beginning of the month for upgrades, with help from the owners of Reid’s Fine Foods.

  • The vibe: “We’ve done a lot of great renovations and a huge team of people helping out with it,” Richard Coker, the new owner of Lebowski’s, told CharlotteFive. “We felt we could make it a bit homier … we wanted to make something that families and everybody could come to.”

  • The menu: Coker, whose family also owns Reid’s Fine Foods and The Salted Melon Market, says the team has revamped the restaurant’s recipes— but you’ll still be able to enjoy some of the restaurant’s longtime favorites. “We’re keeping the staples, as far as the Beef on Weck, fried fish and Buffalo Wings — which are all the western New York, Buffalo staples,” Coker explained. “But other than those three items, the menu is basically completely different.”

In addition to changing the space and its menu, the team is also planning to hold more events at Lebowski’s, including starting a run club and joining Queens University of Charlotte’s Eats on East project.

“We’re planning on being very involved in the community,” Coker said. “We want this to be a place where people can and want to come. It’s in such a great spot and we feel the people of Charlotte deserve to have it be something.”

Lebowski’s official grand reopening is Thursday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m.
