Charlotte restaurant and wine bar now open in Birkdale Village. Take a look inside.

A local spot for wine lovers around Charlotte is making its way to the Lake Norman area this summer.

Foxcroft Wine Co., a wine bar, bottle shop, and scratch kitchen restaurant, has officially opened its newest and fifth location at Birkdale Village.

The wine bar originally opened its Charlotte with its SouthPark location nearly 20 years ago “to combine the convenience of a retail wine shop with a from-scratch kitchen and the best and most eclectic selection of wines by the glass.”

Since then, the local restaurant now has other locations in the Dilworth and Waverly neighborhoods, Greenville, South Carolina and another opening in Raleigh this fall.

THE SPACE: Foxcroft’s newest location is nestled in the heart of Birkdale Village, near the main lawn and stage at the Plaza — with the restaurant’s “signature cozy, laid-back aesthetic inside.

ON THE MENU: Along with 40 wines available by the glass and over 400 grape varieties by the bottle, Foxcroft’s menu is “inspired by wine-driven cultures and features elevated classics” with charcuterie boards, scratch made-small plates, pastas, flatbreads, seafood dishes and more.

Unlike the other locations, the Birkdale Village location will be the first to be open everyday with a full lunch menu. With the retail community being a social district, you will also be able to enjoy a glass of wine to-go from the newest Foxcroft location.

“We’ve watched Foxcroft Wine Co. grow into a truly beloved local brand over the years, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome them to The Village,” Birkdale Village marketing manager Maureen Smith said in a statement. “We can’t wait for our neighbors to discover their new favorite wines and enjoy delicious, scratch-made bites, all while soaking up the restaurant’s easygoing, charming atmosphere.
