New York-style bagel chain opens new location in South Charlotte shopping center
You’ll be able to experience a taste of “The Big Apple” in Charlotte thanks to a New York-style bagel shop now open.
Jeff’s Bagel Run has sett up shop in Blakeney Town Center in the space formerly home to SAS Cupcakes, which closed in June due to the cost of rent and the rising costs of goods.
The Florida-based business, run by Jeff and Danielle Perera, came to be when they “decided to take matters into their own hands” after moving down South where there were a lack of options to get authentic New York-style bagels, the company website says.
From what started as “the bagel run” of personally delivering bagels during the beginning of the pandemic, their home kitchen operation blossomed into a bustling business. Since opening its first-brick and-mortar opening in 2021, the duo has expanded their bagel shop with several other locations, including their first out-of-state location in the Triangle Area that recently opened.
There are plans for Jeff’s Bagel Run to open five restaurants in the Charlotte market.
‘Always boiled, never toasted’
Starting with Jeff as the baker and Danielle — who grew up enjoying authentic New York-style bagels — as the taste tester, the bagel shop has a wide variety of flavored bagels and spreads, with some vegan options, on the menu, including:
Asiago everything bagels
Blueberry bagels
Cacio e Pepe bagels
Cinnamon raisin bagels
Rosemary salt bagels
Jalapeno cheddar bagels
Banana pudding spread
Cake batter spread
Cannoli spread
Cookies and cream spread
Roasted jalapeno spread
Jeff’s Bagel Run also serves coffees, lemonades, chocolate chip cookies and other sweet treats.
