But with a little planning ahead, it’s not too hard to find plenty of options that can fit your healthy food needs, no matter what kind of dietary changes you’re making.

Burton’s Grill

Burton’s Grill, known for its dedication to serving those with allergies and dietary restrictions, offers a variety of dishes that can serve your needs. The menu includes soups, salads and bowls, plus fresh seafood and more.
What to try: Roasted Beet Tower, Harvest Bowl or Salmon Romesco.
Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen

Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen prepares fresh Family Table Meals for pickup or delivery, with gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan selections to choose from. The entrees come with four portions, two small sides, a small table salad and four dinner rolls, but you can also order individual portions and sides.
What to try: Stuffed Eggplant Moussaka Meal, Adobo Spiced Tofu or grilled chicken.
Clean Eatz

Clean Eatz offers dine-in service along with weekly meal plan pickups and deliveries for health-conscious eaters. Options are available for specific diets including high protein and low carb selections that you won’t have to hunt to find.
What to try: Build your own bowl with a base such as kale and quinoa or brown rice, your choice of protein, up to three veggies and a sauce.
Flower Child

Kid Cashew

Kid Cashew is proud of its outlook on clean eating, noting that it’s a “go-to restaurant for healthier to-go options” in Charlotte. While you can get a juicy burger there (and you don’t have to eat the bun if that doesn’t fit your macros), Kid Cashew’s Mediterranean choices are just as tempting for pickup, delivery or dining in.
What to try: Sauteed Shrimp & Polenta, Super Grains Salad or Quinoa Stuffed Avocado.
Oh My Soul

Oh My Soul, which CharlotteFive readers voted as a finalist for best patio in the area, cooks up vegan fare with big flavors. Its South African roots lend toward a menu with flavors you won’t find elsewhere and a welcoming atmosphere for gathering.

The Roasting Company

Chicken comes to mind for many when choosing healthier options, and the Roasting Company has been perfecting its rotisserie chicken for more than 30 years. The restaurant has two Charlotte-area locations for pickup and delivery service, or casual dining in with a variety of keto-friendly, gluten-free and vegetarian options.
What to try: Rotisserie Chicken Plate, the Kale Keto Bowl or Black Bean Taco Platter.
Roots Cafe

Breakfast, brunch and lunch are Roots Cafe’s focus, with locally sourced ingredients throughout the menu. You’ll find healthy, chef-crafted options to start your day or pick you up to carry you through later on.

Sea Level NC

With benefits from seafood including a boost in heart and brain health, fresh fish and bivalves are among the specialties at Sea Level NC. Selections from the raw bar can keep calories and carbs within your desired limits, too — even on a night when you’re in the mood for upscale dining.
What to try: Oysters on the half shell, steamed mussels or tuna poke.
Supperland

Supperland has special allergy-friendly menus for both dinner and brunch. The menus list dishes that are gluten-sensitive, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian or nut free. The Tonidandel-Brown Restaurant Group also offers allergy-friendly options at its other restaurants: Ever Andalo, Haberdish, Reigning Doughnuts and Growlers. Restaurateur Jamie Brown has found relief with some of her own personal health struggles via the AIP (autoimmune protocol) diet, so she’s well-versed in helping others with dietary needs.
What to try: On Supperland’s 14-foot fire grill, you can request almost any of its vegetables cooked over fire with just olive oil and salt.
Zeitouni Mediterranean Grill
