Restaurant with bowls, breakfast and more to open at new Charlotte development

FARE — a fast-casual restaurant offering all-day breakfast, customizable bowls and seasonal specials — plans to open a Charlotte location at Queensbridge Collective in late fall.

A location of the women-led, Chicago-based restaurant was originally slated to open in the Monarch Market food hall, however those plans have changed.

Now, FARE is moving into a 1,500-square-foot indoor space with outdoor seating along Tryon Street at the edge of uptown and South End, catty-corner from Culinary Dropout, Riverside Investment & Development and Woodfield Development announced on Tuesday, March 4.

Amid its plans for national expansion, FARE is also pursuing other potential locations in Charlotte, spokeswoman Ashley S. Roseborough told CharlotteFive.

At Queensbridge, the restaurant will join already-announced food and beverage options including Charlotte-based Night Swim Coffee and Denver-based steakhouse Guard and Grace.

FARE’s culinary point of view focuses on “meals made from real, transparent ingredients — free from seed oils and artificial additives.”

Its menu lists health-conscious options such as smoothies, egg white bites and avocado toast, along with seasonal specials such as a tofu veggie bowl and sweet potato turkey chili.

Diners can also craft their own bowls, starting with a base of organic arugula, lemony kale or house grains, then adding protein, toppers and sauce.

“Charlotte is an exciting next step for us as we continue to expand beyond Chicago. We’re thrilled to bring our ingredient-driven menu and community-focused approach to the Queen City,” Kasia Bednarz, co-founder of FARE, said in a news release.

Anthony Scacco, president at Riverside Investment & Development, said in the release: “We’ve had a ground-floor view into FARE’s Chicago success, and as we talked more with their team, it became clear they are a great fit for our project in Charlotte. Kasia and Britni bring talent, passion, and an innovative approach to fast casual dining, and we are confident they will have amazing success introducing FARE to this market.”
