A food hall for craft beer? It’s oh-so-Charlotte, and yes, it’s coming to South End.

Distro Beer Hub — a food hall for beer that will bring together four North Carolina craft beer favorites — is opening soon in South End.

When the gathering place opens, it will offer distinct zones for Charlotte’s Divine Barrel Brewing and Heist Brewery, along with Asheville-based DSSOLVR and Winston-Salem’s Incendiary Brewing, Distro announced via Instagram on Tuesday.

Its space was formerly owned by B&G Liberman Co., a sewing shop that merged with New-York based WAWAK, so visitors can expect to see an industrial design that incorporates cozy touches. An expansive outdoor space will offer seating outside, too. And live music will enhance events.

Distro is being designed to appeal to a wider audience, offering a bar for craft cocktails and wine, as well. Plans call for a “diverse food selection” to complete the experience, including sushi and shareables.

“Whether you’re a hop-head chasing the latest IPA, a sour beer aficionado, or someone who enjoys a smooth lager, you’ll find something to love here,” Distro’s website says.

Distro plans to showcase a rotating selection of beers from breweries focused on innovation.

  • Divine Barrel Brewing — created by Ben Dolphens and Scott Davis — experiments with modern techniques and bold flavor combinations while also offering a range of traditional brews.

  • DSSOLVR is an “experimentation-driven clearing house for surrealist beverage concepts” that brews lagers, IPAs, gluten-free fruited sours, big stouts and natural wines. It was conceived by Vince Tursi and Mike Semenec.
  • Heist Brewery — founded by Kurt Hogan — is known for breaking ground with North Carolina’s first hazy IPA, CitraQuench’l. It puts out diverse lineup of IPAs, pilsners, sours and stouts.
  • Incendiary Brewing — founded by Brandon Branscome and John Bacon — has been internationally recognized for its lagers. The brand has expanded to add locations in Lewisville and Raleigh, with a Greensboro location opening soon.
