If you’re into bold flavors and bubbling broths, you’re in luck: Szechuan Mansion Hotpot is opening its doors Monday, Oct. 6.

To celebrate the grand opening, diners will get 20% off during the first week and 10% off the second. This marks the restaurant’s third North Carolina location, after winning over fans in the Triangle.

“We’re excited to bring Szechuan Mansion’s authentic hotpot experience to The Arboretum, our third location after Cary and Durham,” general manager Steven Wang said in a news release in June. “Many customers have traveled from Charlotte and asked us to open here. ... The Arboretum lets us better serve them and introduce new fans to our bold flavors.”

If you’ve never had hotpot before, think of it as dinner and an interactive show. You choose your broth, load up your table with meats, seafood and veggies, and cook everything at your seat. It’s warm, it’s engaging — and it can be spicy.

Construction on the new space hasn’t started yet, but early renderings show a modern, welcoming vibe and cozy atmosphere.
