Picasso Taqueria, inspired by its owner’s summertime trips to Spain, is switching up the focus of its food — and its name.
Now, when you head into Merino Mill, you’ll instead find Picasso Mediterranean.
Many of your favorite taqueria staples will still be there. But alongside them on the menu will be an expanded lineup of Mediterranean entrees, such as oregano chicken, roasted salmon and Chilean sea bass, each paired with a side salad.
“We wanted to offer a bigger menu for the entire family,” Picasso Mediterranean owner Michal Bay said in a news release. “If the adults want salmon and seabass, but the kids want cheese quesadillas, everybody can leave happy.”
Vegetarian options include crispy falafel served with tzatziki and a fresh Mediterranean salad. The house-made hummus entree — topped with chickpeas, olive oil and spices — is vegan.
Pasta selections on the menu are chicken Alfredo, cheese tortellini with pesto and cremini mushrooms, and a Bolognese thick with beef and Italian sausage.
On the taqueria side of the menu, fan-favorite dishes that will stay include:
- Taco salad
- Barbacoa taco, with braised beef, red salsa, cotija, pickled red onions and cilantro
- California shrimp taco, with grilled shrimp, lettuce, pineapple mango salsa and cilantro-lime sauce
- Nachos
- Quesadillas
- Churros
