A farm-to-table restaurant is open for sit-down service, takeout in South End

A new farm-to-table restaurant with a focus on local sourcing has opened in South End.

Naked Farmer is opening several locations in and outside of Florida, where it got its start. Among them is a spot in the former Maple Street Biscuit Company space on South Boulevard.

The doors opened Wednesday, Feb. 11, and now customers will find lunch and dinner options such as salads or Harvest Plates that come with a grain or greens, two sides and your choice of dressing, deemed “(un)dressings.” The opening date was previously set for Saturday, Feb. 7, but it was pushed back due to weather-related issues.

The South End restaurant offers dine-in service, as well as pickup, delivery and catering.

Centered are smaller plates of tomato and cucumber salad, roasted sweet potatoes, and a kale salad with feta and squash. Two pairs of hands are visible on the left and right, reaching for the bowls, and a small dessert with caramel sauce and cream sits at the bottom.

“At its core, Naked Farmer exists to reconnect people with where their food comes from — and with each other,” Jordan Johnson, founder and CEO of Naked Farmer, said in a news release.

“South End is a neighborhood built on daily rhythms: walking to lunch, lingering over dinner, supporting local places that feel personal and intentional. That sense of community aligns perfectly with our mission, and we’re excited to grow roots here and become part of the fabric of South End.”

In the center, four pieces of golden-brown seared salmon are served with a grilled lemon half. Surrounding the salmon are dishes containing a bright tomato and red onion salad, creamy cucumber salad with dill, roasted potato wedges, sautéed green beans with almond slivers, and a corn and kale salad. The lighting is warm and bright, emphasizing the textures of the fresh ingredients.
