Barbecue joint with hickory-smoked meats opens doors on new Rock Hill restaurant
City Barbeque is serving smoked meats and more at its newest restaurant just outside Charlotte.
The neighborhood barbecue joint opened March 2 on Old York Road in Rock Hill, offering locals a taste of its slow-cooked meats, classic sides — and don’t forget dessert.
It marks City Barbeque’s fifth Charlotte-area restaurant, with existing locations in Huntersville, University City, Matthews and Ballantyne. In all, the Ohio-based eatery operates more than 70 restaurants nationwide.
“For more than two decades, we’ve believed that great barbeque brings people together,” Mike Muldoon, the chain’s president and CEO, said in the news release. “We’re looking forward to serving our new neighbors and becoming part of the local traditions that make Rock Hill special.”
Meat options include chicken, brisket, pulled pork, turkey and ribs smoked on-site over hickory wood. Customers can pick from a variety of scratch-made sides including mac and cheese, baked beans and coleslaw.
Sweets are also on the menu: Think banana pudding, peach cobbler and triple chocolate cake.
City Barbeque-Rock Hill is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
