New restaurant serving ‘soulful Vietnamese cuisine’ opens in Steele Creek
Charlotte’s newest restaurant serves up steamy bowls of pho and other traditional Vietnamese comfort foods.
Pho Steele Creek, which touts itself as a “neighborhood destination for soulful Vietnamese cuisine,” held its grand opening Friday, May 22, according to its social media channels.
It’s the latest venture from the team behind “Pho @ Charlotte” restaurants, which has existing spots in NoDa and University City.
“Our slow-simmered broths anchor steaming bowls of pho topped with fresh herbs, rice noodles, and your choice of proteins,” the restaurant’s website says. “Round out your meal with crispy spring rolls, savory banh mi, and vibrant vermicelli bowls packed with fresh toppings.”
Vegetarian and gluten-free food options are also available.
Other menu highlights include:
- Bánh Bao Thịt Nướng: Steamed pork bun (3) filled with lemongrass-grilled pork, cucumber, fried onion, pickled daikon and carrots.
- Phở Chín Nạm: Rice noodle bowl with beef brisket and flank in a beef bone broth. Toppings include sliced onion, scallion, cilantro, fresh basil, bean sprouts, lime and jalapeño.
- Bánh Mì Đặc Biệt: Vietnamese sandwich filled with ham, pork roll, headcheese, and pâté.
