Pro tip: You can now order beer to be delivered to your seat at a Hornets game
It’s a close Hornets game, but your beer is empty. What do you do? Choose your adventure:
A) Rush the stairs to the concourse at Spectrum Center as fast as you can, pick the shortest line and fidget your way through it, hoping you don’t miss a dunk from P.J. Washington or a prize from the T-shirt cannon; or
B) Stay in your seat and cheer your heart out but forfeit last call (the end of the third quarter comes quickly). Have beer envy for the rest of the game because your friends have full cups and yours is empty.
We have good news: You no longer have to choose between no beer and no basketball. The Charlotte Hornets have added a “Brew Button” to the official Charlotte Hornets app. It’s super easy to use, and here’s how it works:
(1) Download the app here (App store or Google Play).
(2) Select the three lines at the top left of the app, then select “order food and beverage,” then “order food and beverage” from the drop-down.
(3) Push the “Brew Button.”
(4) Select a bottle of Dasani ($5), a 16-ounce can of Bud Light ($9.50) or a 16-ounce can of Budweiser ($9.50).
(5) Type in your section, row and seat numbers and hit save.
(6) Select the number of drinks you want (two max for beers).
(7) View cart, type in your name, email and credit card info.
(8) Wait for your beer to arrive and make your friends jealous.
(9) Have a cash tip on hand (Keep in mind: those are a lot of steps the delivery peeps are navigating).
“We want to make sure we’re getting fans convenience more than anything when they’re in our arena, giving them the opportunity to stay in their seat and have the beer delivered to them so they don’t miss any of the awesome action going on during the game,” Matt Rochinski, senior director of digital media for the Charlotte Hornets, told CharlotteFive.
Cheers to that.
