Planning to watch the Super Bowl in CLT? Where to enjoy beer and burgers for the big game

Super Bowl LVI -- one of the largest party days of the year -- is just around the corner, with the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Los Angeles Rams set for Sunday.

The game will air at 6:30 p.m. NBC, and can be streamed live on Peacock. Cable subscribers can also log in to the NBC Sports App to watch the broadcast live.

If you’re looking to get out of the house watch the game, and take advantage of some great deals on food and drinks, we’ve got you covered.

Here are some places to watch the Super Bowl in the Charlotte area:

12th Man Sports Pub

Location: 12206 Copper Way #124, Charlotte

Neighborhood: Ballantyne

What to try: One of the six artisan pizzas on the menu, or build your own 10 or 16-inch pie.

What to know: The menu also includes beer on tap, wine, cocktails, mules and martinis ranging from $4 to $13.

All American Pub

Location: 200 E. Bland St., Charlotte

Neighborhood: South End

What to try: Fried pickles, Philly cheesesteak or chicken caesar wrap.

What to know: Sunday specials include $3 mimosas, $5 Bud Light tall boys and $5 Michelob Ultra tall boys.

Brazwells

Location: 1627 Montford Dr., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Montford

What to try: The smokehouse burger, or if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth, the Oreo cheesecake.

What to know: Sunday specials include $5 24-ounce Bud Lights, $2 mimosas and $4 Bloody Marys.

Dilworth Grille

Location: 911 E. Morehead St., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Dilworth

What to try: Shareables like the Dilworth crab cakes and steak nachos are solid choices.

What to know: The covered patio has plenty of seating and 16 flat-screen LED TVs, perfect for watching the big game.

Divine Barrel Brewing

Location: 3701 N. Davidson St. #203, Charlotte

Neighborhood: NoDa

What to try: Owner Ben Dolphens will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for a recommended $5 per plate. You can also sample one of more than 20 beers in the taproom.

What to know: Super Bowl Squares will be available for a few dollars per entry. Proceeds from meals and Squares will be donated to former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen’s nonprofit, The HEARTest Yard Program.

Fox & Hound

Location: 8711 Lindholm Dr., Huntersville

Neighborhood: Huntersville

What to try: Recently-added menu items such has the Nashville hot chicken pizza or the Jack Daniels Burger.

What to know: There are two other Fox & Hound locations in Pineville and Northlake.

Grace O’Malley’s

Location: 157 N. Trade St., Matthews

Neighborhood: Matthews

What to try: Irish staples like the corn beef poutine, chips and curry, lamb burger and Maureen’s Shepherd’s Pie.

What to know: Grace O’Malley’s is an Irish pub, but also features American cuisine, vegetarian options and a kids menu.

Greystone Pub

Location: 3039 South Blvd., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Sedgefield

What to try: Traditional Greek fare like the Classic Pita or the spicy kota with homemade tzatziki sauce.

What to know: The restaurant is “Home of the Cincinnati Bengals” according to the website, so be prepared for some smack talk if you’re a Rams fan.

Jackalope Jacks

Location: 1801 Commonwealth Ave., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood

What to try: The fish and chips, short rib grilled cheese or buffalo chicken sandwich.

What to know: If you’re in the mood for a hearty meal when you wake up on Super Bowl Sunday, check out the restaurant’s brunch options on its website.

Mac’s Speed Shop

Locations: 2511 South Blvd., Charlotte; 2414 Sandy Porter Rd., Charlotte

Neighborhoods: South End, Steele Creek

What to try: The renowned Hickory-smoked pulled pork BBQ and chopped brisket. You can’t go wrong with the brisket Philly wrap or pulled pork taco.

What to know: The restaurant is offering tailgate packages for the Super Bowl. You can get 30 wings or fried ribs for $65, or 50 of each for $110 with your choice of sauce. Call your local Mac’s to place your pick-up order.

Noble Smoke

Location: 2216 Freedom Dr., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Wesley Heights

What to try: The chopped Chesire pork or Joyce Farms pulled BBQ chicken paired with a drink from their extensive selection of wines and cocktails.

What to know: Noble Smoke is offering a package with two pounds of smoked wings, one rack of St. Louis-style ribs, and one quart of mac & cheese for $128. Place your pre-order online and pick it up on on Saturday or Sunday.

Selwyn Pub

Location: 2801 Selwyn Ave., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Myers Park

What to try: The wings or the Selwyn slider that features a juicy angus check with bacon, pepper jack cheese, onions and chipotle aioli.

What to know: The heated outdoor patio is a prime spot to watch the game, since temperatures are expected to drop below freezing.

STATS

Location: 2425 David Cox Rd., Charlotte

Neighborhood: Northlake

What to try: The buffalo or lemon pepper wings, fried or grilled, or the “dirty fries” (seasoned fries loaded with beef, chicken or Philly meat, cheese sauce, green onions and peppers).

What to know: The dress code is business casual, meaning flip-flops, slippers, excessively oversized clothing and revealing attire are not allowed.

Sweetwater Sports Bar & Grill

Location: 4582 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC

Neighborhood: Lake Wylie

What to try: The “over-the-top” nachos, buffalo chicken wontons or shrimp po boy.

What to know: You can call the restaurant at 803-831-1788 to pre-order a wings platter. With more than 20 sauce flavors, it may be hard to choose just one.

VBGB

Location: 920 Hamilton St., Charlotte

Neighborhood: 4th Ward

What to try: The grilled jumbo pretzel with beer cheese or “totchos” (tater tots with cheese, black bean corn salsa, creamy sriracha honey, sour cream and jalapenos).

What to know: Patrons can park in the parking deck across the street. Just tell the attendant you’re visiting VBGB and staff will validate your ticket with any purchase.
