Erin go Bragh! St. Patrick’s Day celebrations return to Charlotte in 2022
Charlotte’s St. Patrick’s Day parade may be off, but there are still plenty of ways to embrace your inner Irish in the region.
The holiday, which falls on a Thursday in 2022, means celebrations ranging from pub crawls to family-friendly festivals.
Here are your chances to let out a hearty “Erin go Bragh” in the Charlotte area this St. Patrick’s Day.
St. Patrick’s Day events in Charlotte
Green River Revival
Location: 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28214

When: March 12
What to know: The U.S. National Whitewater Center’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration returns this year with the “Color Me Green 5K Trail Run,” yoga and live music. You can also see the river turned green. Admission is free, but parking is $6.

St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl
Location: Multiple bars
Neighborhood: Uptown
When: March 19
What to know: Tickets are $20 for this bar crawl that includes stops at Prohibition Bar, World of Beer and more. Your ticket takes care of cover charges and gets you access to discounted beer and food as well as an after party and more.
Old Town St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Location: 153 East Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730

What to know: This all-day event includes live music, multiple food vendors and a “Kid Zone.”
St. Patrick’s Day Pop-up Market
Location: 500 S. Main. St., Mooresville, NC 28115

What to know: Merino Mill’s St. Patrick’s Day market will feature vendors selling clothing, jewelry, candles and more.
St. Paddy’s Partner WOD n’ Pub Crawl 2022
Location: 215 Southside Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217 and surrounding bars
Neighborhood: Sedgefield
When: March 12
What to know: CrossFit Mecklenburg’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration combines a workout with a bar crawl. You’ll participate in a “Workout of the Day” and get access to food and drink deals at neighborhood bars. Tickets are $35, and proceeds benefit Good Soles, a charity that provides shoes to people experiencing homelessness.
Why was the Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day Parade canceled?
Frank Hart, who started the Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day Parade with his wife, Linda Dyer Hart, previously told the Observer he was canceling the 2022 event because of his Parkinson’s disease.
