Where are the best Easter egg hunts in Charlotte in 2022?

What better way is there to spend Easter weekend than to go on an Easter egg hunt and maybe throw in a visit to the Easter bunny? I can’t think of one.

Get those Easter baskets out of the attic, dress up for fun and head out for a day of egg hunting, face painting, games and even Easter-themed breakfast or brunch in the Charlotte area.

Here are options for Easter egg hunts on Easter weekend 2022:

Alchemy Egg Hunt

When: Easter weekend

Where: Rail Trail

What to know: Each egg will contain a token valued between $5 and $50, redeemable at Alchemy, with the amount revealed in center of the attached QR code. To redeem your discount at the restaurant, turn in one token per table per visit to your server at your next meal. The hunt is part of Alchemy’s Easter brunch from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Reservations and a $5 per person deposit are required.

The Ballantyne Hotel Easter Egg Hunt

When: Sunday, April 17, 10 a.m.

Where: The Ballantyne Rose Garden, 10000 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28277

What to know: You must be a hotel guest or have brunch reservations to participate. Brunch options are a la carte from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at Gallery Restaurant, or the brunch buffet in the Ballantyne Ballroom, 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Buffet pricing is $95 adults, $45 for kids ages 5-12, and children ages 4 and younger are complimentary. Reservations are recommended.

Blackberry Ridge Farm Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m.-1 pm.

Where: 14820 Beatties Ford Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078

What to know: Easter eggs will be hidden all around Blackberry Ridge Farm for ages 2-12 to hunt at noon. You can find as many as you can, and everyone leaves with a bag of candy. There will also be yard games, food, drinks and a scavenger hunt for adults. Tickets are $10.

Belmont Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 16, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Where: Stowe Park, 24 S Main St, Belmont, NC 28012

What to know: Free Easter egg hunts for children will be separated into ages 0-3, 4-6, and 7-12. Arrive early for a visit with the Easter bunny, and bring your own basket. Other events include face painting and balloon twisting.

North Carolina Easter Festival

When: Saturday, April 16, 1-5 p.m.

Where: Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, 4751 NC-49, Concord, NC 28025

What to know: This free Easter egg hunt will include free Easter Bunny pictures. Hunt age ranges are 0-5, 6-9 and 10-12. You’ll also find face painting, games like limbo and an egg race, dance performances, crafts, vendors and more. Donations of candy for the egg hunt can be dropped off at the welcome table.

North Carolina Transportation Museum

When: Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16; Open 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with train rides at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.

Where: 1 Samuel Spencer Drive, Spencer, NC, 28159

What to know: Easter Egg Hunt is included with event admission, and tickets are required for ages 3 and up. Hunts are at 10:30 a.m. for ages 0-2 and 3-4, and at 11:30 a.m. for ages 5 -7 and 8-10. Bring your own basket. Tickets: Adults, $7; seniors and military, $6; kids ages 3-12, $5; members and children under 3 free. Professional photography and meals with the Easter bunny are available for an added cost. Food vendors are also on site.

Optimist Hall Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 16; 10:30 a.m. for ages 5 and under, and 11:30 a.m. for ages 6-12. Adults only at noon.

Where: 1115 N. Brevard St., Charlotte, NC 28206

What to know: Easter egg hunts separated by age groups include a special adults-only hunt for three golden eggs. Live entertainment will be on hand from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 16, 9 a.m.

Where: Midwood Park, 2100 Wilhelmina Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205

What to know: Join in the fun at Midwood Park for this neighborhood hunt for candy-filled eggs sponsored by Hartis Property Experts.

Tega Cay Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m.

Where: Runde Field, 5116 Windward Dr, Tega Cay, SC 29708

What to know: Ages 0-9 are welcome for this free Easter Egg hunt. Bring your own basket and come early for the pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Cost for breakfast is $2 for 10 and under; and $7 for those over 10. (In case of rain, head to the Fire Department for candy and pictures with the Easter bunny.)

Union County Teenagers Egg Hunt

When: Saturday, April 16. Middle schoolers are 4:30-6 p.m.; high schoolers are 6:30-8 p.m.

Where: Apprentice Academy High School, 2505 Weddington Rd, Monroe, NC 28110

What to know: Entry fee for this teenager-only hunt presented by Serve Unity Outreach is one non-perishable item or one hygiene item to donate to those in need. The event will include speakers, food and music.
