Breweries and running clubs in the Charlotte area — and across North Carolina — will honor Ahmaud Arbery’s memory by participating in Together We Stand’s Third Annual Maud 2.23 event. The series of runs will commemorate Arbery’s death on Feb. 23, 2020, when the 25-year-old Black man was murdered while running in his Brunswick, Georgia, neighborhood.

When: Charlotte’s family friendly runs will take place on three different dates:

Other Maud 2.23 runs will be held in other cities across North Carolina: Durham, Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Greenville and High Point. A virtual run option is also available.

How many miles? Most runs are 2.23 miles. Check the individual run for details.

Cost: Registration varies per run, from $28-30. All registered participants will receive a Maud 2.23 shirt. If you register early, you will also receive a pair of Feetures socks.

A statewide series of runs will take place beginning Feb. 19, in memory of Ahmaud Arbery. Arbery was murdered on Feb. 23, 2020, as he was out jogging.
