Watch the night sky with Piedmont Ametuer Astronomers at Lake Norman State Park. You can see the bright stars with their telescopes and work on astronomy-based crafts.

Saturday, Sept. 23

Huntersville Hay Days

Location: 11720 Verhoeff Dr, Huntersville, NC 28078

Time: 2-8 p.m.

Cost: Free

Celebrate 150 years of Huntersville with Huntersville Hay Days, where there will be fall carnival games, live music, rides and more. Bring your family and friends, and end the day by watching fireworks light up the sky.

Metrolina Native American Association’s Pow Wow at Rural Hill

Time: 11 a.m.

Cost: Free to $10

The Metro Native American Association is presenting a pow pow, a two-day intertribal event celebrating the gathering of North American tribes. Watch cultural performances during the drum and dance competitions, and check out Native American food and vendors.

Open Mic Night at Old Town Public House

Location: 21314 Catawba Ave, Cornelius, NC 28031

Time: 6-10 p.m.

Cost: Free

Show off at Old Town Public House’s open mic night,hosted by Ian Cunningham. The event welcomes acoustic sets and full bands of all ages and genres. While you showcase your musical talent, you can also meet other musicians throughout the night.

Ghosts of Davidson walking tour

Halloween is just around the corner — get spooked by learning about Davidson’s ghost history. Ghosts of Davidson is hosting 1.8-mile walking tours that are only about 10 minutes long. Maybe an extra guest will join you on your stroll through downtown Davidson.

Grab lunch at Azucar Cuban Restaurant
