The marathon (formerly called Thunder Road), turned 20 years old this year. That’s 20 years of giving runners their moments of a lifetime on Charlotte’s winding roads.
Charlotte’s largest running race, which sold out a few days before race day, included a marathon, half marathon, marathon relay and a 5K. There was even one marriage proposal at the finish line!
