The Charlotte Observer is giving away passes to special advance screenings for two films. Read on for details.

‘The Walk’

The story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) attempt to cross the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974. Rated PG.

WIN TICKETS: To enter a drawing for a pair of passes to the promo screening (7 p.m. Monday in south Charlotte), email CLT@charlotteobserver.com with “The Walk” in the subject line and your name, age and phone number in the body. Deadline: 5 p.m. Friday.

 

‘The Martian’

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Rated PG-13.
