If you’re a fan of Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop, your only Charlotte option is uptown in Latta Arcade on South Tryon Street. But that will change soon.

Potbelly’s second Charlotte location is scheduled to open in March in Piedmont Town Center next to SouthPark. And now a third location has been announced, in Ballantyne. A fourth location also is planned, although no timeline or location is available.

The third location will be in Ballantyne in the Brigham Building in front of the new Wells Fargo Tower, at 11625 N. Community House Road. It’s expected to open in late summer. Meanwhile, the second location, at 4725 Piedmont Row Drive, is on track to open in March, according to a Potbelly spokesperson.

The Charlotte franchises are all owned by Shak Patel, who opened the first Charlotte location in January 2017. Potbelly’s original shop opened in Chicago in 1977 and now has more than 400 locations nationwide. The shop specializes in warm sandwiches, salads and milk shakes.

If there’s one dish that will persuade your family to like cabbage, it’s a golden torta filled with sauteed cabbage, browned onions and creamy cheese.
