Pronto turns your iPhone into a universal TV remote

I’ve tried several gadgets that attempted to turn an iPhone into a universal remote for my TV. After using the Pronto, I think we have a winner.

I paired it with my TV (a current model) and cable box.

Download the free Peel Smart remote app from iTunes. Select your favorite shows to personalize the TV guide within the app and select the devices you want to control. More than 3,000 entertainment devices are included.

Place the Pronto infrared device (2 inches wide by 3.5 inches high) in the same area as your entertainment system and pair it with the iOS device using Bluetooth. (Android version expected in mid-2015.)

Your phone tells the Pronto what infrared signal to send to your system. Pronto is rounded, meaning the signal can be sent from all directions. $50 at www.GetPronto.com.
