Brie Arthur, propagator and horticulturist, a PBS-TV garden show speaker on “Growing a Greener World”, teaches how to incorporate vegetables into flower gardens. Free.

How to Plant a Tree: March 22, 10 a.m.-noon, UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens at McMillan Greenhouse, 9090 Craver Road. Jeff Gillman teaches how to treat roots prior to planting, dig a planting hole, proper watering, mulching, pruning and fertilizing trees.
