Billy Graham Library reopens with new offerings, replica of his US Capitol statue
The Billy Graham Library in Charlotte reopened this week with an addition to “The Journey of Faith” tour exhibit and displays highlighting historic moments from the late evangelist’s global ministry.
The library was closed in January for regular annual maintenance, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
A new permanent feature in “The Journey of Faith” tour exhibit is a section on Billy Graham’s statue that’s on display in the U.S. Capitol. Unveiled in 2024 as part of the National Statuary Hall Collection, the statue honors Graham’s life and gospel ministry.
The new section features a replica of the statue.
The library also will host “The Calling of an Evangelist” exhibit through June 25. The display commemorates the 40th anniversary of Graham’s 1986 Amsterdam Conference for Evangelists, which equipped thousands of pastors and evangelists worldwide to share the gospel.
“We’re excited to welcome guests back to the Billy Graham Library and to show new ways for people to see how God used an ordinary man like my father to share the Gospel around the world,” Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said in a statement.
“My father would have been quick to say that any honor he received was not about him, but about pointing people to Jesus Christ,” Franklin Graham said.
The library will host special events throughout the year, such as Ladies Tea, Bikers With Boxes and Christmas at the Library. Upcoming events include:
“Mr. Graham Remembered,” Feb. 16–21.
The library will mark the anniversary week of Billy Graham’s homegoing with giveaways, bookstore discounts and a featured Dairy Bar special.
“Easter at the Library,” March 28.
The property-wide event features the “Resurrection Quest,” a free, family-friendly scavenger hunt during The Journey of Faith tour, plus activities for all ages and an Easter lunch available for purchase.
Admission to the library is free. For hours, event details and updates, visit billygrahamlibrary.org.
At least 2.1 million people have visited the library since its 2007 opening.
