Five escape massive house fire in Olde Providence North area of South Charlotte

Five people escaped a south Charlotte house fire early Monday morning.

Flames ripped through a home on Hardison Road around 2:30 a.m. Charlotte firefighters say heavy flames and smoke were showing from the home when they arrived.

A man sleeping in the 5500-square-foot home says he and four others were able to escape after waking up to the sound of glass breaking.

The man believes the fire started in the right back corner of the home near pool equipment.

No injuries were reported in the fire. There’s no word on damages. Firefighters are still investigating and have not released an official cause.
