Live music, food and fun coming June 5 to downtown Statesville

Live music, great food, and a fun night in downtown Statesville is planned for Friday, June 5, on Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College.

Enjoy music from 5:45-8:30 p.m. at Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5, along with beer/wine and food vendors from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Admission is free and the live music will be provided by by Silk Groove.

Silk Groove takes its audiences on a journey through the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s and today, recreating classic vocal harmonies, high-energy and the impressive showmanship of The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Stylistics, The Manhattans and many more.

New this year is local talent playing from 5:45-6:15 p.m. The Insomniacs offer hip-hop, R&B and Neo-Soul tunes.

Plus, don't miss the Makers Market happening alongside the event, featuring local vendors, handmade goods, and unique finds that make the night even more worth exploring. Come early, meet someone new, shop downtown, and stay for the full experience.

Food trucks will be on-site. Enjoy a variety of festival favorites, sweet treats, and refreshing drinks. Vendors accept cash or card.

Stop by the Check ID Tent near Kelly Street with a valid ID to grab your wristband. Red Buffalo Brewing Company will serve fan-favorite draft beers; Clocktower IPA (6.6% ABV), Blue'sBerry Ale (5.2% ABV), and Mouthy Blonde Ale (4.5% ABV). In addition, they will offer select wines and a variety of other brand name beers. Tokens from last year will be honored.

Bring your friends, lawn chairs and good vibes - it's the perfect way to spend a summer evening.
