Graduation caps 13 years of work for Cox Mill
The Cox Mill High School Class of 2026 marked the culmination of 13 years of hard work, growth and achievement during commencement ceremonies, where graduates were encouraged to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead while reflecting on the memories and relationships that shaped their high school experience.
Deputy Superintendent Dr. John LeGrand challenged graduates to view commencement not as an ending, but as a beginning.
"The future you've spent 13 years preparing for is no longer ahead of you," LeGrand told the graduates. "It's waiting right outside these doors."
Student speakers reflected on the experiences that defined their time at Cox Mill and the bonds they formed along the way.
"We'll remember how this place felt and the people we shared it with," said graduate Bhanu Krishnamsetty, recalling memories that ranged from Senior Sunrise and Friday night football games to parking lot conversations and everyday moments in the hallways.
Fellow graduate Riley Franchak encouraged classmates to focus on the impact they have on others.
"We may not all be remembered for our accomplishments, but we can choose to be remembered for how we made others feel," Franchak said.
School leaders highlighted the accomplishments of a graduating class that excelled in academics, athletics, leadership and service. From championship performances and playoff appearances to community involvement and academic success, the Class of 2026 leaves behind a significant legacy at the school.
Dr. Meghan Frazier urged graduates not to become complacent as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
"Don't settle for good," Frazier said. "Learn from it, appreciate it, but don't stay there too long. Be willing to take the risk that leads to something greater."
As the ceremony concluded, graduates celebrated not only their achievements, but also the friendships, lessons and experiences that will remain with them long after leaving Cox Mill High School.
With diplomas in hand and futures awaiting them beyond the school's doors, members of the Class of 2026 departed ready to pursue new opportunities while carrying forward a legacy of kindness, courage and connection.
A.L. Brown celebrates at the KPAC
The A.L. Brown Wonders graduating Class of 2026 didn't let the threatening weather dampen their spirits with the ceremony moved indoors to the Kannapolis Performing Arts Center. Many others watched the ceremony on the livestream set up at Atrium Health Ballpark.
The students recalled their 13 years of school. They remembered the good times and the tough times.
Each graduate had a photo made with the Victory Bell, which the Class of 2026 held its entire time at A.L. Brown, never losing to Concord in football.
Besides the diplomas, hugs, smiles and congratulations, decorated mortarboards added to the festivities.
