Documentary 'Abraham's Bridge' to be screened at Catawba Valley Interfaith Council meeting
The Catawba Valley Interfaith Council will hold its annual meeting of the assembly on Thursday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom in Hickory, 4360 N. Center St. There will be a brief business session to (re)elect board members, followed by a screening and discussion of the documentary "Abraham's Bridge."
"Abraham's Bridge" is a short documentary following the Tri-Faith Initiative in Omaha, Nebraska, from an initial idea in 2005 to the present day, as diverse communities work together to construct their dream, confront unanticipated challenges, and look toward an uncertain future, according to a news release.
"As provocative as it is beautiful," notes Dr. Celene Ibrahim in the Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy at Groton School, "‘Abraham's Bridge' offers audiences a stunning visual experience and compelling evidence that civility can prevail over forces of division." For Ibrahim, it's a "must-see film for congregations, religious leaders, civic educators, and, perhaps, anyone with a heart."
