Shake Shack plans to start construction later this month on its first Charlotte location, the company’s general contractor said Thursday.
The popular restaurant will be located at Park Road Shopping Center. It’s joining a retail lineup where several other national restaurant chains have opened recently, including Chopt, Burton’s Grill and Urban Cookhouse. Shake Shack has said it plans to open in late 2017.
SEC is the general contractor Shake Shack has picked for the project.
“We are excited about this project and pleased that SEC has been chosen to construct the new building,” said David Fry, SEC’s president, in a statement.
“We look for companies that are local to the area and familiar with local building practices, code requirements and subcontractors,” said Lou DeAngelis, senior director of construction and facilities at Shake Shack. The company operates 135 locations in 18 states, including Virginia, Kentucky and Georgia.
