The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership opened a low-income apartment development in Brightwalk on Oct. 18, adding to the supply of affordable housing near uptown.
The 130-unit Stevenson Apartments property is reserved for residents making 60 percent or less of the area’s median income.
It’s located in the fast-changing North End area of Charlotte, and the apartments are the latest part of Brightwalk, the redevelopment of the former Double Oaks housing project.
The apartments are located at 1433 Samuel Street, just south of Statesville and Atando avenues.
Charlotte City Council approved $10 million worth of bond funding to support the Stevenson Apartments.
