The state is investigating a worker’s death at an industrial plant in Davidson on Friday morning.

The worker died in what MEDIC called an “industrial accident” in the 800 block of Beaty Street.

That’s the same block as the longtime North American headquarters of industrial equipment maker Ingersoll Rand, now Trane Technologies.

However, it’s unclear whether the incident happened there or if a worker from that company was involved.

A Trane Technologies spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a request for comment from The Charlotte Observer.

A spokeswoman for the N.C. Department of Labor declined to identify the industry or say how the worker died.

“We are in the beginning stages of investigating the accident,” spokeswoman Meredith Watson said in an email to The Charlotte Observer.Watson. “That is all we can share at this point.”

MEDIC identifies where a death occurred only by street block number.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
