Charlotte has seen a lot of development over the years, especially with new apartments popping up all around the city.

Some areas come with a heftier price tag than others depending on where you’re apartment-hunting, like South End, NoDa, Plaza Midwood and Uptown.

Like any other city, rent prices fluctuate year to year and even month to month based on a variety of factors.

Here’s a look at 5 of the most expensive one-bedroom apartments currently on the market (as of March 28, 2024) in Charlotte, according to Apartments.com:

The VUE

Location: 215 N Pine St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Rent cost: One bedroom units start at $2,404/month (820 sq. ft.)

The VUE is a high-rise luxury apartment building — the tallest between New Jersey and Miami — nestled in the heart of uptown Charlotte. The building, which offers studios, one, two, three and four-bedroom units and penthouses, also has a junior Olympic pool, sauna, golf simulator and an outdoor lounge.

The Reed

Location: 401 S Graham St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Rent cost: One bedroom units start at $2,346/month (763 sq. ft.)

The Reed is a newer apartment community located in FNB Tower — a mixed-use development which opened about three years ago. The uptown luxury apartments, with studio, one and two bedroom units, features a pool, yoga and spin studio, plus a fitness center with views of the city’s skyline.

The Atheron

Location: 2100 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203

Rent cost: One bedroom units start at $2,269/month (702 sq. ft.)

The Atheron is a community of apartments part of Atherton Mill in Charlotte’s bustling South End neighborhood. The complex has studio, one and two bedroom floorplans, along with a pool, fitness club and outdoor bar.

Ashton South End

Location: 125 W Tremont Ave, Charlotte, NC 28203

Ashton South End is a luxury apartment complex in South End located right on the Rail Trail. There are one and two bedroom units in the complex, along with a rooftop pool, dog park, theater room and fitness center.

Uptown 550 on Brooklyn

Uptown 550 is a luxury apartment community in uptown Charlotte, around the corner from NASCAR Hall of Fame. The building has several studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, plus a rooftop bar, game room, pool, jacuzzi and spa.
