Labor Day weekend has finally arrived, with several services and businesses altering hours for the holiday.

The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County offices and services, USPS and most banks will be closed on Monday— but you’ll still be able to stop by several grocery and retail stores around the Charlotte area.

If you need to make a shopping trip during the long weekend, here’s a list of which businesses will be open and closed on Labor Day:

Charlotte grocery stores open on Labor Day

  • ALDI: Open for limited hours

  • Food Lion: Open regular business hours

  • The Fresh Market: Open regular business hours

  • Harris Teeter: Open regular business hours

  • Lidl: Open regular business hours

  • Publix: Open regular business hours, but pharmacies will be closed

  • Sam’s Club: Open with modified hours

  • Target: Open regular business hours

  • Trader Joe’s: Open regular business hours

  • Walmart: Open regular business hours

  • Whole Foods: Most stores open with modified hours

Costco will be closed.

Charlotte retail stores open on Labor Day

  • Belk: Open regular business hours

  • Big Lots: Open regular business hours

  • Dollar General: Open regular business hours

  • Dollar Tree: Open regular business hours

  • Family Dollar: Open regular business hours

  • HomeGoods: Open regular business hours

  • Kohl’s: Open regular business hours

  • Marshalls: Open regular business hours

  • Petco: Open regular business hours

  • PetSmart: Open 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • TJ Maxx: Open regular business hours

  • Walgreens: Open regular business hours, but the majority of pharmacies (except 24 hour locations) will be closed
