Lowe’s appoints Novant exec to board of directors
Mooresville-based Lowe’s Cos. appointed Novant Health executive Bertram Scott to its board of directors Friday.
Scott will serve on Lowe’s audit and governance committees. His appointment is effective immediately and brings the number of Lowe’s board members to 12.
“With his leadership, strategy and integration experience, Bertram will provide valuable perspective as Lowe’s continues to transition from a home improvement retailer to an omni-channel home improvement company,” Robert Niblock, Lowe’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement Friday.
Scott has been Novant’s senior vice president of population health since last December. He has held executive leadership positions at Affinity Health Plan, Cigna Corp. and TIAA-CREF. He currently serves on the boards of Becton, Dickinson and Company and AXA Financial.
Lowe’s operated 1,846 stores in North America as of July 31. It is the second biggest home improvement retailer in the U.S., right behind Home Depot.
