Charlotte-based window and door manufacturer Jeld-Wen has named Mark Beck its new president and chief executive officer, effective Nov. 30.

Beck will replace Kirk Hachigian, who will continue as executive chairman of Jeld-Wen’s board of directors, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

Beck is a graduate of Pacific University with an MBA from Harvard. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of water quality and dental platforms at Danaher Corp. since early 2014. Before that, Beck was with Corning Inc., where he worked for 18 years in a number of roles including executive positions.

“Mark has demonstrated the ability to develop innovative products by applying advanced technological solutions. He is a natural leader who will establish effective relationships both inside the organization and across the building products industry,” Hachigian said.

The Wall Street Journal reported in August that Jeld-Wen is planning for a possible initial public offering, citing sources familiar with the deal. The company operates in more than 20 countries with $3.5 billion in annual revenue, half of which comes from outside the U.S.
