‘Picturesque oasis.’ See home for sale on private North Carolina mountains lake.
A mountain home near North Carolina’s largest private lake is for sale for nearly $5.8 million after a renovation and new interior design by a real estate team affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty.
The 4,924-square-foot home overlooks 65-acre Lake Cardinal near Lake Toxaway, the state’s largest private lake, in Transylvania County. The home is about 145 miles west of Charlotte.
Located at 95 Cardinal Trace, the home was the first they saw when they arrived in the community of Lake Toxaway nearly three years ago, said Jeff Ramm and Neal Hauschild, co-founders of the Nth Degree Team at Coldwell Banker Realty.
The home had been on the market for about year, they said.
When the home was still on the market a year later, they decided to buy it, “because we fell in love with the location, the site and the possibilities,” Ramm and Hauschild said in a statement Friday to The Charlotte Observer.
Double door entry, 16-foot vaulted ceilings
The property includes about 150 feet of waterfront access through landscaped paths to a dock. Many areas of the three-bedroom, six-bathroom home look out to Cardinal Lake.
“It truly is a picturesque oasis in an area we are so excited to call our full-time home one day in the future,” Ramm and Hauschild said.
The first floor of the home includes a double door entry with views straight through to the lake.
The open floor plan includes “walls of windows with unobstructed water views,” a great room with 16-foot vaulted ceiling, a stone fireplace, beamed ceiling and access to the large covered deck with a fireplace and outdoor grilling station, according to its listing.
The chef’s kitchen includes quartz counters, Thermador appliances and an oversized island. The owners’ suite has lake views, a sitting area, custom spa bath and a walk-in closet.
The main level leads to a two-car garage, a pantry-laundry center and a fire pit deck.
Upstairs includes two en suite bedrooms with baths and a loft area. A large family room with a bar is downstairs, with access to two other decks. A lower-level kitchen also opens to the outdoors.
