Sharon Road closed at Sulkirk Road

Part of Sharon Road at Sulkirk Road is closed for two weeks as Charlotte Water replaces old water main pipes beneath the road. The closure began early Saturday and will continue until 6 p.m. March 22, the Charlotte Department of Transportation said. Davie Hinshaw dhinshaw@charlotteobserver.com

Traffic is moving steadily throughout the Charlotte area, with no traffic accidents reported as of 7 a.m.

Meanwhile, residents in south Charlotte should be aware of the ongoing closure of Sharon Road at Sulkirk Road.

That closure will be in effect through 6 p.m. March 22 to allow for a water main replacement. Drivers can use a detour route of Fairview Road, Park South Drive and Park Road.
