Cam Newton a victim of a recent stalking incident, police report says
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was listed as a victim in an apparent stalking incident, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report.
Someone went to Bank of America Stadium at 11 a.m. Wednesday, where the Panthers were practicing, and asked to speak to Newton, the police report said.
The person had visited the stadium in the past for Newton and was asked not to return, the police report said. The suspect was asked again on Wednesday to not return or contact Newton.
The police report did not identify the suspect.
Panthers head coach Ron Rivera acknowledge the incident Thursday, but declined to provide further comment.
