Charlotte man faces homicide charge in connection with October slaying

A man has been arrested in connection with an October homicide, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced Saturday.

Grady Alonzo Hills Sr, 41, of Charlotte, faces a first-degree murder charge for the death of 29-year-old Larry Doral Watson Jr.

Officers were called to the 9200 block of Trinity Road the morning of Oct. 8, where they found Watson shot to death.

Watson was from Charlotte, and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 2006, according to his obituary. He worked for a landscaping company in Charlotte.

Officials identified Hills as a suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest Friday, police said.

Hills was also charged with armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
