Seven Providence Day students will be coming home from Buenos Aires, Argentina, soon, the school said in a statement Wednesday.

The private school's study abroad trip was disrupted Sunday when 10 students and two faculty members were injured in a bus crash, according to statements from the school. One person not affiliated with Providence Day was killed in the crash.

The other three students and both faculty members will continue to recover in Buenos Aires, the statement said.

School leaders, including Head of School Glyn Cowlishaw, traveled to Argentina earlier this week to help with the recovery process.

Providence Day has asked for privacy for the students, faculty members and their families and has not released any of their names. The school's statement also did not say what day the seven students will arrive in Charlotte.

A GoFundMe campaign to support the families of the victims with the worst injuries, along with the Argentinian family of the person who was killed, raised more than $31,000 in its first 48 hours. The page was launched by students who went on Providence Day's Argentina trip in 2016.
