3 shot in Charlotte early Saturday, including an 11-year-old girl, police say

Three people, including an 11-year-old girl, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after someone fired bullets into their southeast Charlotte apartment early Saturday.

In a news release, police described the two other victims only as “females” and have not disclosed their ages.

Six people were in the apartment when shots were fired just after 3 a.m. from an outdoor common area of a complex in the 3400 block of Oak Arbor Lane, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department news release.

Charlotte firefighters and MEDIC took the victims to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center, police said.

Police did not say if they have any suspects. They also have not said if they believe someone in the apartment was being targeted or if the shots were fired at random.

Police said only that “the investigation into this case is active and ongoing” and asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
