A water main break has left some Plaza Midwood residents without water Friday, including a popular restaurant.

It could take at least four hours to make repairs, Charlotte Water said in a tweet at 9 a.m.

The break happened in the 1300 block of Central Avenue, near Lamar Avenue, the agency’s tweet said. One lane is closed for an “emergency water pipe repair,” according to the tweet.

Moo & Brew, located in the same area where the break occurred, was forced to close until further notice.

“We hope to be able to open later this afternoon,” the restaurant said in an Instagram post around 11 a.m.. “Stay tuned.”

As of Friday evening, water service had not been restored, Moo & Brew manager James Corwin told the Observer.

“We’re not going to be open tonight just because we don’t know when they’ll actually be done and water will be usable,” Corwin said.
